EPA: Fuel Economy for New Vehicles Rises for Fifth Straight Year

The average fuel economy for cars and light trucks has increased only slightly for model year 2009, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The report also notes that fuel economy has steadily increased and carbon dioxide emissions have steadily decreased since 2004.
